The barefoot shoemanufacturer in Europe, not in Asia.
60+ zero-drop, wide-toe-box barefoot models — sandals, sneakers, boots and minimalist dress shoes — produced in Spanish workshops under EU labour and REACH standards. White-label, tweak or custom development.
Zero-drop, wide toe box, foot-shaped last.
A barefoot shoe is a zero-drop, minimally-cushioned, foot-shaped shoe designed to let the foot move as it does when unshod. Comfortspain represents the European barefoot cluster inside the broader Spanish footwear industry: factories with dedicated foot-shaped lasts, 3.5 mm flexible soles, and wide toe-box construction — produced to EU REACH standards with transparent supply chains.
Why brands are *near-shoring* barefoot production
Until 2020, most barefoot brands produced in Vietnam and Southern China. Since then, lead times, tariff volatility and consumer demand for EU-origin have pushed development back to Europe. Spain — specifically Elche and Arnedo — has the last-making, flexible-sole expertise and workshop flexibility to compete on development speed even when per-pair cost sits 22–30% above Asian alternatives.
The European barefoot market grew 34% CAGR 2021–2024 (Allied Market Research). German, Austrian and Scandinavian retailers lead adoption, with DTC brands following.
What a *Spanish barefoot* shoe looks like
Our partners produce on foot-shaped lasts with 10–14% extra toe-box volume versus conventional lasts. Soles are 3.0–4.5 mm at the forefoot, zero-drop, patterned for grip and flex. Uppers are typically vegetable-tanned leather, waxed canvas, recycled polyester or responsibly-sourced suede. Linings are barefoot-standard: no arch support, no metatarsal pad, no heel counter.
Construction methods: cemented (minimalist sneakers, sandals), Strobel + direct-attach (flexible trainers), and Blake-stitch (minimalist dress shoes, boots).
Who the line is *not* for
Barefoot is not for performance-running brands targeting elite athletes — that category is served by specialised rubber-cushioning producers. It is not for cheap mass-market fast-fashion — our barefoot entry-level FOB is €26, too high for €29-retail segments.
It is for wellness retail, DTC near-shoring brands, outdoor and hiking crossover categories, and physio/podology specialists who are tired of explaining Asian supply-chain risk to their customers.
Four barefoot
categories, one last family.
Our barefoot line is built on a single family of foot-shaped lasts, extended into four retail categories. Consistent fit across the range, consistent look-and-feel.
